The H3 Podcast hiatus Ethan Klein announced on Oct. 22 read at first like a routine pause. Within a day it meant something much larger: his wife and co-host, Hila Klein, alleged on Instagram late Thursday, U.S. time, that her husband was in an affair, and the people who produce the show then said they were finished working with him.
Where it stands: The Los Angeles-based podcast remains on what Ethan called an “indefinite hiatus” as of Oct. 23, 2026. On Friday he asked the public to leave his relatives alone and said he wants out of every podcast and business he shares with Hila, including her labels Teddy Fresh and Teddy Glow. He has not addressed the allegation itself in detail, and nobody involved has said whether H3 will return in any form.
A pause first, then the post
The order of events matters here. Ethan’s announcement came first, as an Instagram Story. According to TheWrap, it said the show had been put on an “indefinite hiatus” and added, “Thank you so much for your patience.” It gave no reason.
Less than 12 hours after that message, Dexerto reported, Hila posted her own account. The Hollywood Reporter and Variety both place her post late on Thursday night; some British outlets date it Oct. 23. None of them has published an exact posting time, and this story does not assign one.
For a show that has spent years building an audience around the married couple at its center, the sequence meant fans learned of a break before they learned anything about why.
What Hila Klein alleges
Hila’s post, which Eastern Eye described as three parts, opens this way in the text printed by The Hollywood Reporter: “I am living a nightmare I can’t wake up from. My husband has been having an affair.”
She wrote that she had sensed something was wrong and raised it, but felt brushed off: “I could sense something was wrong. I tried to ask him questions and share my concerns and hurt feelings. But I was met with dismissive answers and no action.”
Her account says the story she was told kept changing until, in her words, “he finally admitted he’d been in an affair for over 6 months, the extent of which I’m sure I still don’t know.” She described a partner she had trusted for two decades, writing, “The betrayal I feel is immeasurable. The person I loved and trusted for 20 years evaporated overnight.”
She closed by saying she is “in survival mode, trying to navigate separation, co-parenting, and unthinkable heartbreak.” The couple has three children. No court case between them has been reported; “separation” is Hila’s own word.
These are allegations made in a personal post. Eastern Eye noted that the details had not been independently confirmed. Hila did not identify anyone else in her statement, and California News Now is not reporting on, or speculating about, anyone beyond the people who have spoken publicly.
The crew steps away from its host
The second shoe dropped on the show’s own account. The crew posted a statement that THR quoted at length. It began: “We are all shocked, angry, and heartbroken to learn about Ethan’s ongoing affair.”
The crew wrote that once members found out, they all agreed they “would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting in any way.” Variety reported the decision was unanimous. The statement added, “We stand with Hila and will support her every step of the way,” and ended on a softer note to viewers: “We love you, and we miss you already.”
What it did not do was explain the mechanics. As IBTimes UK observed, the statement said nothing about who owns the podcast, what happens to its existing episodes or how long the break will last. Eastern Eye likewise reported that no relaunch, new name or final episode had been announced.
What Ethan Klein has said, in his own words
Ethan has spoken publicly three times since Thursday, and none of the three messages describes the relationship Hila wrote about. Earlier, in a story written while he was still silent, Dexerto said he had shared Hila’s statement again from his own Instagram.
The first Friday message, an Instagram Story quoted by Variety, asked people not to contact his relatives. “They have nothing to do with this and share in your outrage and disappointment. Thank you,” he wrote.

The second, quoted by THR, went to money and ownership: “I am working with Hila to urgently remove my ownership and financial stakes in any podcasts, [Hila’s businesses] Teddy Fresh, Teddy Glow or any joint venture that I would profit from. All of your support will go directly to Hila and the crew.” He added that he believes “the crew will make an awesome show.”
THR’s report said he was “breaking his silence on the allegations.” That is fair as a description of timing. As a description of content, it goes further than his words do: he has not given his own account of what Hila alleges.

A Los Angeles show with a large reach
The scale explains why a personal post became entertainment news across the country. Variety describes the Kleins as a Los Angeles-based couple and reports the podcast, launched in 2016, has 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. THR notes that guests have included Post Malone, MrBeast and Jack Black, and that the Streamys have nominated it as best podcast on five occasions.
The show also sat at the center of a family business. Eastern Eye reports that Hila runs Teddy Fresh, the apparel line she started in 2017, and that H3 helped promote it to viewers. Ethan’s Friday post named that brand and its sister label, Teddy Glow, among the ventures he says he wants to leave. Our separate story on Ethan Klein’s ownership stakes covers what he did and did not specify.
What happens next
Three questions are open. The first is whether the crew relaunches the show, under the H3 name or another one; its statement says only that it does not yet have answers. The second is how any change in ownership would be carried out, since Ethan described the work as under way rather than finished. The third is personal, and belongs to the family.
For now, the most recent public word from the crew is a promise to viewers that members are safe and sticking together. The most recent word from Ethan, posted Friday, is that all support should go directly to Hila and the crew.
