Ethan Klein Timeline: Five Posts That Upended the H3 Podcast in Two Days

Five public messages, posted across Thursday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 23, took the H3 Podcast from a vague pause to an open question about its future. This Ethan Klein timeline lays them out step by step, citing the outlet that reported each one and the date that outlet printed, because those dates do not always agree.

Where it stands: H3 has been paused with no return date since Thursday, and that was still true as of Oct. 23, 2026; Hila Klein has alleged in a public post that her husband was having an affair, the crew has said it is done working with Ethan, and Ethan has posted twice on Friday without giving his own account of the relationship.

The Ethan Klein timeline at a glance

Step and date reported Message Reported by
1. Thursday, Oct. 22 Ethan’s Story: show on indefinite hiatus Dexerto, Eastern Eye, TheWrap
2. Late Thursday (U.S.) / Oct. 23 (U.K.) Hila’s post alleging an affair THR, Variety; IBTimes UK
3. Late Thursday (THR) / Friday (TheWrap) Crew statement on the show’s account THR, TheWrap, Eastern Eye
4. Friday, Oct. 23 Ethan’s privacy Story Variety, THR
5. Friday, Oct. 23 Ethan’s post on ownership stakes THR

Each step is described below. Where outlets differ, both versions are shown rather than averaged.

Step 1: A hiatus notice with no explanation

The first public signal came from Ethan himself. According to Dexerto, on Oct. 22 he told followers H3 was going on an “indefinite hiatus” and thanked fans for their patience. TheWrap, which saw the Instagram Story, quoted its sign-off as “Thank you so much for your patience.”

Nothing in that Story said why. Eastern Eye reported that some people online wondered at the time whether it was a stunt, since the show had a history of dramatic teasers. Hila Klein’s post changed the conversation.

Step 2: Hila Klein’s post

Hila’s post followed fewer than 12 hours later, by the count of both Dexerto and Eastern Eye. TMZ put it more loosely, saying the hiatus Story went up “just hours” before.

Variety printed her opening sentence as “I am living a nightmare I can’t wake up from.” Dexerto printed a slightly different version of the same opening, “I am living in a nightmare I can’t wake up from,” along with a line, “I am tired of lies,” that the Variety text does not include. Both outlets agree on the core claim in the next sentence: “My husband has been having an affair.”

In the post, Hila alleges that the affair lasted more than six months and that she was misled for months before learning of it. These remain her allegations. IBTimes UK, writing before Ethan’s Friday posts, described them as claims Hila had made publicly and said he had not responded.

Step 3: The crew’s statement

Next came a statement from the H3 crew, posted to the show’s official Instagram account. The Hollywood Reporter said it appeared late Thursday; TheWrap reported the team wrote it Friday; Eastern Eye dated it Oct. 23.

The message opened with the crew saying it was “shocked, angry, and heartbroken” and said members had all agreed they would stop working with Ethan while he was involved or profiting. Variety reported that the agreement was unanimous. Our full read of that statement is in the H3 crew statement story.

Step 4: Friday’s privacy request

An early Dexerto report, filed while Ethan had not yet responded, noted one thing he had done: repost his wife’s message. TheWrap’s early story noted he had not publicly acknowledged the allegations as of its writing.

His first original message came in an Instagram Story on Friday. Variety quoted it: “I know a lot of people are understandably looking for a comment from me, but I ask that you please respect my family’s privacy and do not contact them looking for me or asking for their comments.” He added that his relatives had nothing to do with this.

By 12:25 p.m. Pacific on Friday, TMZ had updated its story to say Ethan “has broken his silence on the alleged affair.” That timestamp marks TMZ’s update, not the moment the Story itself went up.

Step 5: The ownership post

THR describes a follow-up post in which Ethan set out what he wants to give up. “I am working with Hila to urgently remove my ownership and financial stakes in any podcasts, [Hila’s businesses] Teddy Fresh, Teddy Glow or any joint venture that I would profit from,” he wrote. He said he hopes fans can “still support Hila and the Crew without the concern of enriching me.”

That is a description of work in progress. No completed transfer has been reported. Details of what he listed are covered in our story on Ethan Klein’s ownership stakes.

Why the dates disagree: a time-zone problem

Readers comparing coverage will see Hila’s post dated two ways. U.S. outlets, THR and Variety among them, describe it as late Thursday night. British outlets, including IBTimes UK and Eastern Eye, date it Oct. 23. The crew’s statement has the same split, with TheWrap also calling it a Friday post.

None of these outlets has published an exact posting time for either message, and this timeline does not assign one. What the coverage shows consistently is the order: the hiatus notice came first, Hila’s post second, the crew’s statement after hers, and Ethan’s two Friday messages last.

What has not happened yet

The timeline stops at Friday’s posts. Since then, as of Oct. 23, 2026, no new show, rebrand or end date has been announced by the crew, and no court filing involving the couple has been reported. The latest dated item here is Variety’s Friday report on Ethan’s privacy request, timestamped 1:01 p.m. Pacific.
